Active citizenship song

During the first active citizenship language camp in Italy April 2016, learners will exchange about the writing of the lyrics and decide on the melody on which the song will be written. When they go back home they will start the writing. Suggestions will be exchanged between partners during the first months of the second year and the final text version will be ready for March 2017. When learners and teachers meet again during the second active citizenship language camp in England in April 2017, they will start rehearsing the song. Changes and improvements, if any, may occur there the final version will be ready by the end of the camp and recorded so that learners could rehearse it in their schools. Other learners and teachers who will attend the third active citizenship language camp in Spain in April 2018 will also rehearse it. It will be recorded again there by the Spanish partner. The latter will do a montage of the song to make the final version to be published on the project website. All learners and teachers involved in the partner schools will rehearse it at home and sing it during events they organise. Learners and adults will also sing it during the closing ceremony in Poland in June 2018. The song will become the motto of our partnership. The song will allow learners to prize the positive impact of the partnership on their attitude and learning.

LAGRIMONE CAMP 2016

During the first active citizenship language camp in Italy April 2016, learners had to write an active citizenship song, that will become the motto of the partnership.
The project was articulated into 4 steps.

EACH NATIONAL GROUP PRESENTED HIS OWN MELODY, RECORDED ON MP3 SUPPORT.
The learners listened to all melodies and chose the best ( the Polish one) and started memorize it.

2. ANALYSIS OF THE MELODY AND CREATION OF THE LYRICS FOR THE REFRAIN.
SPLITTED INTO 5 INTERNATIONAL GROUPS LEARNERS STARTED TO WRITE THE LYRICS.
They had to fill a scheme with one line for each musical phrase( see at the bottom of the report); the text had to concern with ecological and active citizenship themes. Music teacher gave her help for hyphenation matters.

3. TEACHERS CHOSE THE FINAL LYRICS FROM ALL VERSIONS WRITTEN BY INTERNATIONAL GROUPS AND GAVE IT TO EACH LEARNER. THE GROUP STARTED TO SING THE ERASMUS SONG.

4. FINISHING TOUCH OF THE LYRICS AND STARTING SINGING THE SONG.
FINAL REFLECTION ABOUT THE COOPERATIVE WORK AND ABOUT THE MEANING OF THE SONG. ( even with the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1E_OxMmDBA )

ERASMUS SONG
A
When we look at the world we could despair
there is violence and bloodshed everywhere.
But we’re the children who can change it
working hard because we love earth
and bring joy to everyone

B
We are all Erasmus kids
and we will always be one.
Don’t pretend you never knew
how to use, reduce, recycle
and stay green, put it in the bin.

B’
As sure as ships sail the sea
there’s no gap with you and me,
so we all will work together
to stop climate change in weather:
this cuoud be a reality.

A
We will always stay together side by side
working hard to live forever in the light.
We can make the planet better
if we all respect each other
and make earth a friendly place.

B
We are all Erasmus kids
and we will always be one.
Despite race, belief or colour
we will be friends forever
and make sure we save the earth.

B’
We are all Erasmus kids
and we will always be one.
Despite languages and cultures
we can understand each other
and make friends with everyone!
